St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, My First Choice

Ms. Asia, a native of Indonesia and a breast cancer survivor for more than 8 years, was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma of the left breast in March 2015 after finding a lump in her left breast and being examined locally. Ms. Asia was shocked and saddened. However, Ms. Asia soon pulled herself together because she knew that if she continued to grieve, her family would also be sad, so she had to be optimistic. Fortunately, Ms. Asia soon found a solution.

"After I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my brother-in-law called me that night and recommended St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, after which I went to the office of this hospital in Medan with the report. At that time, a doctor from the headquarters was there, so I had a consultation with him, after this, I immediately strengthened my determination to go to the headquarters of the hospital in Guangzhou, China, to receive treatment, and I also arrived at the destination smoothly with the help of the staff of the office." Ms. Asia's tone reveals some pride in having chosen St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou from the very beginning, exclaiming in an exclusive interview before the event.

Minimally invasive treatment saved me from experiencing the side effects

In April 2015, Ms. Asia came to St. Stamford Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital. Upon admission and examination, Ms. Asia was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. Our MDT considered Ms. Asia's condition and physical status and customized a comprehensive minimally invasive treatment plan based on "interventional therapy + naturopathy" for her.

It is the duty and practice of every doctor in the MDT to explain and inform the patient well before the operation. After thorough communication with the patient, the doctors then arranged 6 sessions of interventional therapy for Ms. Asia, of which the results were very obvious after the third interventional therapy, and the tumor was very effectively suppressed. In July 2016, Ms. Asia underwent a whole-body PET/CT examination at Singapore Hospital, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the tumor was "gone"! Upon learning this news, Ms. Asia's family members were overjoyed and were thankful that Ms. Asia had found the right and effective treatment right from the start. "Although there were indeed a variety of concerns when we first came here, with the step-by-step treatment, all the worries have disappeared, and now we see the tumors in her body day by day 'fade' down, we as a family are very happy for her, but also very grateful for the hospital's treatment!"

"look at my friends who received treatment in other hospitals, they experienced the side effects of the treatment, not only weak, but also vomiting, compared to the minimally invasive treatment I received over here, I have a good appetite, sleep well, exercise is not a problem, and my weight at that time even reached 60kg," as a first-hand experience of minimally invasive treatment, Ms. Asia felt lucky compared to her friend's poor condition. Ms. Asia is eloquent about the differences between minimally invasive treatment and traditional treatment. "Since the end of the series of treatments in 2017, I am still in good physical condition, with normal daily activities, and I have even worked business trips and traveled with my family during the follow-up treatments."

The most important thing about fighting cancer: reconciling with yourself

"This cancer has taught me to reconcile with myself and keep a positive mindset. Many cancer patients, when diagnosed, are scared or even give up, thinking that having cancer is the end of life. No, cancer is not the end of all life, we still have the chance to receive good treatment and we can still do more of what we want to do." At the event, Ms. Asia spoke of her own experience in fighting cancer and expressed her earnest hope that all cancer patients, who are fighting cancer, can reconcile with themselves and fight cancer positively.

"Those of you who are fighting cancer, come on! Let's cheer together and keep our spirits up! Cancer doesn't mean the end of life, and even though it's in us, the most important thing we can do is to stay positive and we have to be brave enough to beat it!"

Introduction to minimally invasive techniques

[Interventional therapy]
