On July 19, 2025, the 4th ASEAN International Oncology Integrative Medicine Session, jointly hosted by authoritative institutions including the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), the Chinese Academy of Integrative Medicine Development Strategy, and the World Academy of Integrative Oncology (WAIO), and co-organized by Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangdong Anti-Cancer Association, Hong Kong and Macau Anti-Cancer Association, and Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou , will be grandly held in Guangzhou, China.
This session will bring together leading oncology experts from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and other ASEAN countries. They will engage in in-depth exchanges and sharing on key topics including non-surgical cancer treatments, minimally invasive combination therapies, and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine.
This grand event will serve as a new starting point for promoting cancer prevention and treatment cooperation under the “Belt and Road” initiative, bringing more hope and possibilities to cancer patients in Southeast Asia.

Academician Fan Daiming | President of the China Anti-Cancer Association
Academician Fan Daiming emphasized the need to enhance guideline sharing, doctor exchange programs, technology transfer, and talent development to facilitate resource sharing and collaborative experience-building. He highly commended Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou’s practice of integrating traditional Chinese medicine with minimally invasive techniques, hailing it as a model for China-ASEAN cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Professor Wang Ying mentioned that Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, serving as the China Anti-Cancer Association’s “Belt and Road” Integrated Oncology Training Base, has organized 220 CACA guideline promotion events domestically and internationally over the past three years, received 90 international visiting delegations, and conducted 2,800 international remote consultations, establishing itself as a vital hub for global oncology collaboration.

In his speech, Consul General Ben Perkasa Drajat stated that cancer prevention and treatment pose a common challenge for ASEAN countries, and Indonesia is willing to actively participate in regional collaboration to jointly enhance grassroots screening and improve medical accessibility.

Associate Professor Abu Kaled introduced that Bangladesh is facing an increasing burden of breast cancer, along with challenges such as inadequate screening coverage, delayed diagnosis, and disparities in medical resources. He emphasized the need to adapt international experiences to the national context, calling for strengthened regional cooperation and capacity building to improve access to early breast cancer screening and standardized treatment.

Chairman Chris Cheng Yuong Kang leads an organization dedicated to raising cancer prevention and control awareness in Sarawak, Malaysia, and promoting early screening and standardized treatment. At this conference, he will share experiences in community advocacy and call for adapting international best practices to local contexts to elevate regional cancer prevention and control standards.

This advancement not only enhances treatment precision and patient comfort but also represents a significant progress in radiotherapy for breast cancer.

SAKTAGANOV MURATZHAN ┃ Breast Cancer Expert, National Cancer Center of Kazakhstan
Professor SAKTAGANOV MURATZHAN introduced the mainstream approaches to treating breast cancer in Kazakhstan and the primary treatment concerns of patients in clinical settings. He expressed his hope for increased future collaboration with Chinese counterparts in the field of breast cancer treatment.

Dr. Lê Công Định introduced the practical application of integrated palliative care in oncology treatment, including how to improve patients’ quality of life comprehensively through multidisciplinary collaboration, ranging from physical symptom management to psychosocial support. He expressed his hope for future collaboration with our hospital to enhance treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life.

Since the launch of the first ASEAN International Oncology Integrative Medicine Session in 2020, it has been successfully held for three sessions, becoming a vital platform for cross - border exchanges of anti - cancer experiences, technologies, and concepts. We have witnessed:
