On May 7, 2025, the 2025-2026 Inauguration Ceremony for the new board of directors of the Penang Cancer Society, Malaysia, was successfully held. The event gathered distinguished guests from the medical, charitable, and other sectors, including Founding President Dato’ Tan Leong Seng; He Langbing, Director of International Affairs at Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou; Yeoh Chee Hong, General Manager of Malaysia International Service Center; and the Society’s Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Teh Siew Yuan (Dato’ Designate).

In his address, the newly appointed President, Mr. Soon Yong Cheng, stated that the Society will continue to connect with charitable resources to assist cancer patients in applying for financial aid, ensuring that no patient abandons treatment due to economic burdens. Founding President Dato’ Tan Leong Seng also expressed gratitude to Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou—a long-term partner of the Society—for its sustained contributions in cancer medical assistance. He looked forward to deepening future collaboration to provide tangible support for more cancer patients. He Langbing, the Society’s Chief Executive Advisor in China and Director of International Affairs at Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, quoted the Malay proverb “Bersama kita teguh” (Unity is strength) in his speech, emphasizing the shared vision of safeguarding public health through collaboration.

As President Soon remarked, “Fighting cancer is not just a medical battle but also a dual struggle against psychological and financial hardships.” Recognizing this profound responsibility, our hospital aspires to establish long-term strategic cooperation with the Penang Cancer Society. We will continue to provide practical support through expert consultations, public welfare lectures, and treatment assistance programs, helping patients access care with peace of mind and without despair. We firmly believe that quality healthcare should transcend borders, and that love and hope know no limits.

Our participation in this ceremony marks not only another milestone in China-Malaysia medical collaboration but also a resonance of philanthropic ideals. Moving forward, our hospital will continue to partner with cancer organizations across Malaysia to promote the scientific concept of “Early Detection, Early Diagnosis, Early Treatment.” We strive to contribute Chinese strength to building a cancer-free society and advancing global health.
