As Malaysia’s Independence Day (August 31st) approached, to let Malaysian patients undergoing treatment at our hospital feel the warmth of their homeland’s festival, on August 30th, we meticulously planned and organized a care event themed “Celebrate Malaysia’s Independence Day, Embrace Health Together”. This event deeply integrated festive celebrations with health care, representing not only cultural resonance but also a heartwarming emotional healing.

At the start of the event, our nutritionist delivered a special presentation on “Dietary Health for Cancer Patients”. From a professional perspective, she addressed patients’ confusion regarding daily nutritional support and provided scientific and practical dietary guidance to aid their better recovery. After the presentation, the nutritionist also provided detailed answers to questions raised by patients and their families based on issues encountered in their daily lives. Subsequently, a simple yet informative prize-winning quiz on nutritional knowledge created a relaxed and joyful atmosphere on site!

The following game session instantly ignited the on-site excitement. During the “Dexterous Ping-Pong Ball Picking with Chopsticks” challenge, everyone focused intently, steadily passing the ball with chopsticks amidst continuous laughter.

Participants included first-time inpatients as well as long-term patients who had been admitted multiple times. One such long-term patient, Mr. Pan, shared his treatment experiences before and after coming to Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and recounted his daily treatment feelings to new patients on site. His resilient and optimistic spirit deeply inspired every fellow patient, providing immense encouragement!

During the free-sharing session, patients and their families spoke about their feelings during treatment, their longing for family, and their hopes for the future. Each sincere word struck a deep chord, with everyone encouraging and supporting each other, spreading warmth and solidarity among all present.

The most heartwarming part was making gratitude cards. Patients and their families carefully wrote down their desires for health, heartfelt blessings for their families, gratitude towards hospital staff, and best wishes for Malaysia's Independence founding anniversary. Every word carried the most sincere emotions, embodying hope and strength.

As the event drew to a close, everyone held their homemade gratitude cards and Malaysian Independence flags, beaming with bright smiles, and posed for a group photo, permanently capturing this unforgettable warmth and emotion!
