To further advance exchanges and collaboration between China and Malaysia in the field of cancer treatment, and to help more Malaysian cancer patients gain insight into cutting-edge medical technologies and services, bringing advanced healthcare closer to the people of Malaysia, a Malaysian healthcare media team visited our hospital on March 16 for a two-day exchange tour. The delegation was warmly received by hospital leaders, including President Wang Huaizhong, Vice President and International Affairs Director He Langbing, Office Director Yang Jinna, International Network Director Qiu Chang, and International Affairs Director Assistant Liu Yansheng.

Welcome Ceremony: Embracing International Partners with Open Arms

During the welcome ceremony, President Wang Huaizhong reflected on the hospitals 21-year journey:Since its establishment, our hospital has always focused on patient needs, adhered to minimally invasive features as a hallmark, integrated traditional Chinese medicine and various therapies, and formed a unique integrated oncology medical model. With remarkable efficacy and a high safety profile, our minimally invasive techniques have benefited nearly 100,000 foreign patients from regions including Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Russia, and Mongolia. The hospital has twice passed the globally recognized JCI accreditation, providing dual assurance of treatment effectiveness and safety.

President Wang further stated, "While ensuring core medical services, we actively expand humanistic care services, respect patients' religious and cultural practices, and provide post-discharge health management and rehabilitation guidance. Based on extensive international exchanges, the Belt and Road International Training Center for Integrated Oncology of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association has been established in our hospital. In the future, leveraging this platform, we will integrate global authoritative expert resources and build a bridge for technical exchanges for peers from countries along the Belt and Road."

The General Manager of Kwong Wah Yit Poh expressed during the exchange, "Through this visit, we hope to gain an in-depth understanding of China's advanced medical technologies, explore cooperation pathways, and join forces with China to disseminate China's advanced cancer treatment technologies and concepts to more people, bringing them hope for treatment."

In-Depth Visit: Experiencing the Charm of Integrated Medicine Up Close

The delegation toured the hospital premises, visiting the ward areas. During the tour, staff demonstrated the operational process of the digital management system. The intelligent applications in the wards not only enhanced medical efficiency but also provided patients with a sense of security through technology.

Upon entering the patient rooms, the delegation gained detailed insights into the functional zoning, patient privacy protection measures, and facilities for family accompanying. Adjustable hospital beds, accessible private bathrooms, and the warm arrangement of the wards all reflect the hospital's focus on patients' quality of life. Subsequently, the delegation visited the sky garden, Muslim prayer room, and other spaces for patient activities. These areas are regularly open and host various humanistic care activities, integrating treatment into the environmental details and helping patients relax during their treatment journey.

To provide the delegation with an intuitive understanding of our technological advantages, the hospital arranged a live observation of minimally invasive operation. Guests witnessed the key steps of seed implantation and minimally invasive interventional procedures in real time on the screen. On the monitor, the expert team performed precise operations under image guidance, accurately implanting seeds into the lesions; interventional catheters navigated delicately through blood vessels with minimal trauma and blood loss. The surgical team remained calm and composed while the equipment operated efficiently, drawing waves of admiration from the audience.

During the patient interaction session, the delegation had an in-depth conversation with a Malaysian patient currently receiving treatment at our hospital. The patient and their family shared their medical journeyfrom medical technology to attentive care in daily life, from respect for religious beliefs to accommodation of lifestyle habitsallowing everyone present to deeply feel the warmth of our hospital's "humanistic care."

In-Depth Dialogue: Insights into the Innovative Path of Integrated Cancer Therapy

During the visit, the delegation conducted exclusive interviews with Group Chairman Lin Zhicheng, President Wang Huaizhong, Chief International Oncology Expert Song Shijun, Breast Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center Director Dai Wenyan, and Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center Director Ma Xiaoying.

Chairman Lin Zhicheng shared the achievements of China's oncology medical field: Over the past 15 years, the five-year survival rate of cancer patients in China has significantly improved. The core breakthrough lies in the practice of the "integrated medicine" conceptbreaking down the limitations of single disciplines, adopting multidisciplinary collaboration, and integrating minimally invasive techniques, traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and cutting-edge technologies to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing damage.

As the Belt and Road International Training Center for Integrated Oncology of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, our hospital plays a role in integrating cross-border resources, conducting academic exchanges and technical collaborations with multiple countries in Southeast Asia and Central Asia, and promoting Chinese experiences such as the CACA guidelines. In the future, we will continue to open our doors for surgical observations and clinical pathway sharing, welcoming colleagues from around the world to our hospital for collaborative research, thereby advancing the coordinated progress of global cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Discussing the plans for Sino-Malaysian cooperation, he expressed the long-term hope to engage in two-way exchanges with Malaysian counterparts in areas such as equipment, technology, and medical trade, continuously promoting in-depth medical collaboration between China and Malaysia.

President Wang Huaizhong elaborated on our hospital's core advantages from three dimensions:

In terms of service philosophy, we adhere to "one-stop warm medical care": MDT multidisciplinary teams customize treatment plans, providing one-stop solutions for diagnosis and treatment; medical staff, Hospital Concierge, and translators provide full-process support; we conduct religious and cultural training, respect patients' beliefs, and make medical care more compassionate.

Regarding core technology, we pursue "high-quality survival with tumors" through "integratedholisticminimally invasive approaches": treating cancer as a chronic disease, performing surgery for early-stage cases, and using minimally invasive, targeted, and traditional Chinese medicine therapies for intermediate and advanced stages to control tumors, prolong life, and improve quality of life simultaneously.

In terms of quality assurance, we insist on "dynamic standard upgrades and safety embedded in culture": passing JCI accreditation twice, revising standards biennially; establishing a mechanism for active reporting and continuous improvement, allowing quality awareness to permeate every detail and safeguarding the bottom line of patient safety.

Director Song Shijun, Director Dai Wenyan, Director Ma Xiaoying, and other specialists shared their departmental advantages from a clinical practice perspective. The hospital has strategically developed specialized wards for breast, gastrointestinal, and respiratory system (lung cancer) diseases. This specialized approach not only enhances the standardization of diagnosis and treatment and advances research capabilities but also provides patients with more comprehensive and refined medical services. While effectively controlling tumors, the hospital places great emphasis on maintaining and improving patients' quality of life.

A Vision for Collaboration: Adding Another Choice for Hope

The visit of the Malaysian healthcare media delegation was not only a demonstration of medical expertise but also a bridge connecting patients in China and Malaysia with high-quality healthcare resources. A representative of the delegation stated, "This visit will help us introduce these medical services to the Malaysian public more authentically and comprehensively, giving them another choice and more hope when facing illness."

In the future, our hospital will continue to deepen collaboration with international medical institutions, committed to providing warmer and more precise diagnostic and treatment services to cancer patients worldwide.
