On April 13, 2026, at the launch ceremony of the CACA Discipline Empowerment Co-building Unit Initiative during the 2026 National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Awareness Week, Guangzhou First People’s Hospital and Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou officially signed a specialty alliance cooperation agreement. The Department of Hematology at Guangzhou First Peoples Hospital is a National Key Clinical Specialty, a Guangzhou Key Medical Discipline, a Guangdong Provincial High-Level Key Clinical Specialty, and a training base for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation technology in Guangdong Province. Established in 1974, the department is nationally renowned for its expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of aplastic anemia. Its allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation technique for severe aplastic anemia has been recognized as a Guangzhou Clinical Advanced Technology, and the departments annual transplant volume ranks among the highest in China.
