He also emphasized the hospital’s core strengths in cancer care. As a pioneer in integrative minimally invasive cancer treatment, the hospital offers 18 minimally invasive techniques and has established three specialized units for breast cancer, lung cancer, and digestive tract cancer. Future plans include expanding into liver and biliary tumor subspecialties, forming a one-stop, specialty-based diagnosis and treatment system. Focusing on the challenge of treating intermediate and advanced cancer patients, the hospital has developed extensive clinical experience, moving beyond single-treatment models to provide personalized, comprehensive treatment plans. It has also built a full-process service system covering arrival, admission, treatment, discharge, and rehabilitation. After nearly 20 years of refinement, this full-cycle service model ensures optimal patient experience and quality of life. The hospital has earned a strong reputation based on solid clinical outcomes.

Speech by the President of the Penang Cancer Association

The President of the Penang Anti-Cancer Society reflected on the more than ten years of collaboration since their first encounter in 2014. He has visited the hospital multiple times and was invited to attend international oncology conferences hosted by the hospital, witnessing its growth and progress. He highly praised the hospital’s MDT (multidisciplinary team) model, contrasting it with Malaysia’s traditional model of seeking care across different departments. He noted that the hospital’s integrated, one-stop cancer treatment system coordinates therapies and manages side effects, significantly improving patients’ quality of life. He mentioned that many Malaysian patients who cannot tolerate conventional chemotherapy or surgery have come to the hospital after learning about its 18 minimally invasive techniques and targeted therapies, achieving ideal treatment outcomes.

On-Site Visit: Experiencing the Treatment Environment

During the visit, accompanied by Ms. Liu Yansheng, the delegation toured key areas including the outpatient clinic, smart wards, telemedicine consultation rooms, minimally invasive treatment rooms, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine department. They observed the hospital’s environment, smart healthcare infrastructure, and clinical services. They also paid a special visit to Malaysian patients receiving treatment, gaining a detailed understanding of their treatment and recovery status. The visit gave the delegation a comprehensive, first-hand view of the hospital’s overall treatment conditions, further solidifying the foundation for future collaboration.

Deepening Cooperation: Charting a Path for Long-Term Partnership

This exchange visit further strengthened mutual trust and understanding. Moving forward, the hospital will continue to embrace open cooperation, working hand in hand with the Penang Anti-Cancer Society to enhance collaboration in technical exchange, cancer education, and patient services. Leveraging its strengths in integrative minimally invasive treatments and full-process service models, the hospital aims to build a cross-border bridge for oncology care, deliver high-quality treatment to international cancer patients, and jointly advance regional cancer prevention and treatment efforts to a new level.
